Looking Back at 2016, Ahead to 2017

Happy New Year 2017 from Michael Christopher

As the end of the year approaches, it’s time to look back at 2016.  It was an eventful year for Michael Christopher, playing dozens of fairs, festivals, theaters, and music venues all over the map, opening for major country stars, and finalizing a brand new album.

In between headlining his own shows, Michael had the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Sammy Kershaw, Lonestar, William Michael Morgan, and Chris Lane, among others.  In all, he and the band played nearly 100 shows in 2016, ranging from intimate acoustic shows to performances in front of thousands.

Michael also finalized his brand new self titled album, due out in early 2017.  The record features 12 tracks, 11 of which he wrote/co-wrote.  The lone cover is Michael’s take on the Don Henley classic “The Boys Of Summer,” a song that is always a hit at live shows.

Also featured on the album is the song “DNA,” which is Michael’s first single.  The song, co-written by Rand Bishop (Toby Keith – “My List”), was received so well that CMT (Country Music Television) premiered the official music video in the fall.  Most recently, Michael and his band shot a new music video for “Looks Like Rain,” an upbeat track featuring Michael’s signature country/rock influenced style.  Filmed at The Cutting Room in New York City, the video for “Looks Like Rain” will be released in 2017.

2016 has been an exciting year for Michael Christopher; one to remember.  A special thanks goes out to all of the families, friends, and fans of Michael and the band.  Here’s to 2017!
