Michael Christopher has released a video for his acoustic version of “Ring of Fire.” The song was written by June Carter Cash and Merle Kilgore, and was recorded by Johnny Cash. Recorded on March 25, 1963, it became the biggest hit of Cash’s career, claiming the top spot on the country chart for seven weeks.
“This song is a big part of country music’s history,” Michael said. “Considering who wrote it and who recorded it, this is always a favorite when we play this live. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to play.”
This video for “Ring of Fire” is part of an acoustic series filmed at the Kresge Theatre on Carnegie Mellon’s campus in Pittsburgh, PA. It features performances of some of Michael’s favorite songs, past and present, across the country music genre and beyond.
